A friend for tiger Tim..

In the summer my nephew Edgar got an Angry Bird bath robe from me.

He really liked it, but he subtly let me know, that if I ever sewed something for him, a stuffed animal would be a great idea. For example I could make a friend for his tiger Tim and white tiger would fit very well.

So I sewed the little prince a white tiger for his 8th birthday and tiger Tim got a friend too.

It wasnt that easy to sew the tiger though.
It started with finding plush with the right tiger print - you can mostly only find zebra print - and ended with the fact that I couldnt find a pattern for the stuffed tiger.

Finally I found plush with tiger print at stoff 4 you and I made the pattern myself.

And I think it turned out kind of cute, even when the proportions are not exactly correct.

The most important thing is, that Edgar was super excited and even tiger Tim seems to get along very well with the new one too.

A girl pouch for Ada..

Little Ada is around 6 years old and invited all her friends to a picnic, before kindergarten starts again.

Since Philippa, my cousins little one, was so excited about her girls pouch, I wanted to give one to Ada too.

Hopefully she will be as happy as her.

Here you can find the pattern for the girlspouch.

A plush bunny for little Pontus..

Pontus is almost a year old.

And since I sewed this bunny a couple of times already last Christmas, I wanted to give one to Pontus too.
I didnt have a lot of time to sew all these presents for the kids in Sweden, and everything I didnt have to think about, a benefit.

You wont believe it, but only figured out where to sew on the ears when I made the fourth bunny!
With the other ones I sewed on the ears on the sides and never understood, why my bunnies looked so crumpled.

So, whoever is as dumb as I am, here my advice: sew the ears between the back of the head and the front of the head! Otherwise it doesnt look pretty..

I found the pattern on the website of KimmysFreizeit.

At the crayfish fest the bunny was allowed to sit on the table with us..

.. and here the bunny enjoys the sun at a quiet place in the garden.

Stuffed pins for Sigge..

Sigge is Villes little brother.
He is approximately as old as my nephew Hektor, who got stuffed pins from me for his birthday. Hektor really loved that game, especially since a ball was included und a balls are just awesome for the little one.
So I thought, it would be be a good idea to give those to Sigge too.

I already sewed some, that were meant for Lav, however I decided on some without a pattern.
Well, long story short.
Sigge got a bowling game, that I sewed months ago, but didnt know who to give it to.

Here you can find the pattern for the bowling game.

The pins were immediately unwrapped and tested.

A diaper bag for Olivia..

For mom Olivia and her little baby I sewed a diaper bag.

You can use the bag as hanging organizer and for on the road turn it into a bag.

The bag easily fits a couple of diapers, a small pack of wipes and a changing mat. Additional I put tissues, baby creme, baby shampoo and disinfection spray into it. So its really very spacious.

The pins are ready and waiting for the birthday boy!

Nähanleitung und Schnittmuster

And I have to say, I did the best job this time and I will hand over the bowling game to little Lav without any concerns.

Bowling.. the second..

This time I was way faster to sew the pins. And since they were made out of firm cotton wool, they are also the same height.

I replaced the bear for a horse. Well, it was supposed to be a horse, but it turned out to be a crossover of a donkey and a coati. At least the figure spurs your imagination.

The bowling game was meant for Lav anyway, who would celebrate his first birthday soon.
Vladimir knows Lavs mom better than me and when he saw my finished pins he just said Aleks wont like these. She doesnt like patterns.

Of course, the present is for Lav, but somehow as mom you get excited about presents too. If it isnt enjoyed though, it isnt good either.

So Plan B. Someone else will get these and Lav will get some without a pattern.

Finally the dolls have a face..

free pattern

Until now I didnt dare to give the rag dolls faces.
Especially when I think about, how hard I worked on the eyes and nose of the stuffed bunnies. And one of the bunnies still looks like as if hes not in his right mind.

I didnt want to deform the dolls with a crooked face.
And on top of it Vladimir thought, that it would look better, if the dolls got realistic eyes. But there is still the nose, thats missing. How am I going to put that on that flat face?

But then I found these pictures of rag dolls with different faces in an old 70ies- house wife craftwork book from my mom and even Vladimir had to admit, that the friendliest looking ones had simple eyes and mouth.

I scanned the page. I know, the quality is bad and the faces hard to recognize, but maybe you can get an idea. The doll on the left bottom is definitely my favorite.

So, authentic faces to and fro, theyre just rag dolls and button eyes and a simple mouth look the best. And to make those was no problem with Stricktwist.

What an effect a friendly face can have. Before our little Irma didnt know what to do with the dolls, now she gives them more attention. And I even caught her hugging and embracing the doll.

Irma’s doll gets a friend..

I was a little annoyed, that the first rag dolls hair didnt work that well. I smuggled the bangs into the tails, so they wouldnt stick in all directions.

So I sewed Irma another one, before the first one even had a face.

Schnittmuster und Nähanleitung

Doll number 2 got red hair like Pippi Longstocking and no bangs. I tried really hard to sew even more strands in and left them all long.

Schnittmuster und Nähanleitung

Anyway now the doll has enough hair on her head, to try out different hair styles.

But until Irma will do that, it will take a little while.

I am satisfied, but this doll doesnt have a face yet either. I have to get to work on that soon, because without eyes and a mouth the dolls look a little creepy.
